AI and calls

This page explains how the AI receptionists we install behave, so callers and business owners know what to expect. Each client business signs a service agreement with these rules in it.

The receptionist says what it is

Every call starts with a greeting that says the caller is talking to an AI assistant and that the call is recorded and transcribed. Example: "Thanks for calling [Business]. You're speaking with an AI assistant, and this call is recorded and transcribed so the owner can follow up. How can I help?" In Spanish: "Gracias por llamar a [Negocio]. Le atiende un asistente de inteligencia artificial; esta llamada se graba y se transcribe para darle seguimiento. ¿En qué le ayudo?" A caller who does not want to continue can hang up or ask for a message to be taken without recording, where the phone system allows it.

Recordings and transcripts

• Recordings and transcripts are used only to serve that caller and that business: the call summary, the follow-up and quality checks.
• They are not used to train AI models, not sold and not used for any other purpose, and the service settings are configured to match.
• Each business chooses how long recordings are kept. Our default is 90 days for audio and 24 months for text summaries.
• We do not use voiceprints or voice identification.

Text messages

• A caller who called and did not reach anyone may get one text in reply to that call, about that call. That is the missed-call text-back.
• Any other text, such as follow-ups, reminders or review requests, is sent only to people who agreed to receive texts from that business.
• Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts from that business. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
• Texts are sent only between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. in the recipient's time zone, and never before noon on Sunday.
• We do not send texts to purchased or rented lists, and we do not share phone numbers or text consent with anyone for their marketing.

Outbound calls

The receptionist answers calls. It does not place automated or AI-voice calls to people.

What AI does not decide

The receptionist does not quote custom prices, promise dates, give legal or technical advice, or make commitments for the business. Those go to a person.
